Ian and Julie Fawcett answered God’s call and moved with their daughter Loren and son Casey, firstly to Costa Rica in 2006 to learn the Spanish language and then on to Choluteca, Honduras where they have been overseeing the establishment of a farm which will ultimately provide family, work, education and health care for the many children and others in the area who are infected with HIV / Aids. A sponsorship scheme has been started, details of which can be found at www.casahogarvida.com.
The Fawcett’s returned to the UK in 2010 but the Trust has continued to support Yaisaira, one of 9 children in the Ortez family. Yaisaira is infected with HIV, the only person from her family, and is not in good health. It is possible that she might be taken into the children’s home for a while to try to sort out her health issues and to give her grandmother, on whom the bulk of her care falls, some badly needed rest.
